Mets Win 3rd Straight!
Carlos Portocarrero made his debut on the mound for the Mets Thursday night. Portocarrero didn't disappoint. He allowed just 1 hit in 5 1/3 innings of work. Carlos was able to pitch around several walks and hit batters to earn the victory. Preston Purchase also saw his 1st action on the mound as he closed things out in the 6th. This was a tight game until the 5th, when the Mets bats came alive to score 7 runs and seal the victory. Matt Mykowski came through with another big game, drilling two doubles. Mike Bach also had a key base hit to drive in 2 runs as well. The Mets were able to coax a few walks and take advantage of errors that led to runs. The defense was also solid for the Mets, committing no errors for the second straight game. Next game is Sunday against the Red Sox at Maywood at 9am.
