Braves lose tough one to Red Sox
The Braves were looking to start a new win streak vs Red Sox today but fell short.
Matt Kempf took the mound for the Braves in looking for his 2nd win of the season. The Braves put up a run in the 1st inning with a 2 out bloop hit by Brando Baiocchi. The Red Sox would counter with a run in their bottom half.Braves would then allow the Red Sox to put up 5 spot in the 2nd inning. With 2 outs a hit batter and a walk as well as misplayed ball were the key to this inning as the Red Sox took a 6-1 lead.Braves baseball as usual would come back in the 4th to add 2 runs on singles by John List, Angie, Brandon & Jon Sosner to cut the lead to 6-3.To the 5th where things got interesting for the Braves!Kris Couch lead the inning off with a bunt hit followed by a SB.Joe H would then come up to add a single to left. With runners at 1st and 3rd no outs Joe H stole 2nd and set the stage for Angie Deblasi who came up with a single to score 2 runs to make it a 6-5 game. Then came up Brandon with no outs hits a gapper between left and center which the ball rolled forever across the walkway.A 3-Run homer-OVERTURNED due to supposedly Brandon missing 3rd base, the Red Sox appealed and got the out.
Game was tied at 6.The Braves did add one more run in the inning to take a 7-6 lead.To the bottom of the 7th Braves leading by a run and one out, back to back hits put runners at the corners.A SB would then force the Braves to intentionally walk Mike Steele, with the bases loaded.A deep fly ball to left, a tough play for Bill G,fell into his glove and popped out as he fell to the ground. One run would score and the game was tied. With the based loaded and only one out the Braves were forced to play in, a base hit would then follow and the Red Sox won 8-7, a tough game to lose.
