Braves edge Mustangs...

The Braves were looking to extend their winning streak to 3 games, but knew it would not be an easy task.Scott Guess took to the mound looking for his team leading 4th win.The Braves would quickly jump ahead with 2 runs in the 1st.A leadoff single by team MVP Sean Carney.With back to back SB's, Joe H drove sean in with a ground out.Angie Deblasi would then drive in Kris Couch who earlier in the inning added a single & Sb of his own.The Braves would add 5 more runs in the bottom of the 2nd to go up 7-0.Mustangs though would not give up.They scored 5 of their own in the 3rd to make it a 7-5 game.The Braves offense was shut down for 3 innings which allowed the Mustangs to score another run in the 4th to make it 7-6 and one more run in the 5th to tie the game at 7.To the bottom of the 6th where with one out Kris Couch lead off with a single, then Joe Haufles ground to short where the 2nd basemen missed the double play ball allowing Kris to advance to 3rd and Joe H to 2nd, with one out the Mustangs gamble, they walk Marty Gallagher to load the bases for Angie Deblasi.Angie would hit a sac fly to put the Braves ahead 8-7, which would be the final.Top of the 7th Bill Hendricks lead off with a hit, the next batter would then hit into a perfect double play turned by Kris Couch unassisted.Scott would then K the last batter to end the game.Mustangs gave the battle the Braves expected.Side note-Scott G had 7 K's and 1 walk allowed.
