Braves Sweep (DH) vs Black Sox

The Braves came to play 2 today vs Division rival Black Sox. GAME 1-Jeff P. took to the mound.Black sox took a quick 2-0.A lead off triple and a couple hit batsmen.The Braves though would add 6 runs on 5 consecutive hits.Braves would add 2 more runs in the 3rd making the game 8-2.Jeff would hold the Black Sox down til the 6th inning where they scored 3 runs to bring the score to 8-5.But the Braves were not done.Bottom of the 6th the Braves added 2 more runs to make the game 10-5.Matt Kempf would come in to close the game, but had a little difficulty in doing so, allowing the Black Sox to score 4 times making it a close 10-9 game.Matt K'd the last batter to earn his 1st save of the season.Notes* Kris couch was 3 for 4 2 RBIS.Angie Deblasi 2 for 4 RBI.Mike Carlin 2 for 3 RBI. Jeff finished with 2 W's and 6 K's GAME 2-Well the Braves looked to not only sweep the Black Sox, but also put themselves back into 1st place with a win. Joe Haufle took to the mound for his 2nd start this season.AND IT WAS A SHORT ONE.Braves took an early lead in the 1st by scoring 4 runs on 5 hits.RBI double by Angie Deblasi and triple by Greg Novak lead the way.But the Black sox would score early off Joe who had to be taken out and replaced by Roy in the 1st inning due to a sore elbow.Black sox would score 4 of their own to tie the game.Nonetheless the Braves bats were up for the challenge by scoring 3 more runs, A 3-RUN BOMB by Kris Couch put the Braves ahead 7-4!Black sox were also up for the challenge by scoring 2 in their bottom half making the score 7-6.Braves bats would make more noise in the 3rd, 4th & 5th innings by tacking on 8 more runs to make the score 12-6 Braves.Ron went above and beyond pitching with a torn rotator cuff, roy pitched 5 strong innings to keep the Braves in this one, a grandslam in the bottom of the 5th allowed the Black sox to trim the lead making the game 15-11.Matt Kempf was brought in again to close out the game and did just that! NOTES* J.R. Bogan was 2 for 2 with 2 walks and SB.Angie DeBlasi was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIS.Bill Guess was 2 for 3 RBI.Braves look towards tues with a showdown with the Marlins!
